COMMENT FOR GROUP PRESENTATION

Prof. MASAAKI ISHII

Professor, faculty of global liberal arts, Director for Language, Media Learning Research Center, Kanda University of International Studies.

Dear all,

Thank you all for your excellent presentations and action plans.

I have the impression that all the presentations are able to focus on "relationships and system transformation", which I emphasized in my lecture of the SDGs.

Group A did a good job of articulating the three proposals from the perspective of system transformation, and the third one, collaboration with local communities, is a very important perspective.

Group B has focused the current issue of the project to the lack of connection to the bigger government, and has given a lot of thought to how to solve that problem.

GroupC is able to clearly list the issues that the current project is facing, show the expected system for each issue, and present a concrete action plan to realize it. Since the identification of the issues is very good, I highly appreciate the fact that what needs to be transformed and how is appropriately considered.

I believe that the process of understanding the current state of the project, envisioning the ideal state, and considering the actions necessary to close between the gap will continue to be important, so please make use of this process in your future studies and actions.

I look forward to your future successes.

Sincerely,

KAZUHIRO YAMAMOTO

Chief Administrative Officer, GLM institute

What I addressed in my lecture was that international cooperation is not only for world peace and stability, but also for various interests of the stakeholders, and the concept of SDGs is laid in that trend.

Therefore, It is also conveyed in my lecture that each of us needs to take action and monitor our society in order to realize a sustainable development in the true sense of the word. In this context, I evaluate that Group C expressed brilliantly their initiative because they focused on the issues in or close to their community and considered a realistic and feasible action plan.

As for Group A and B, it should be evaluated that they had a broader view of social issues and tried to make a system change.

However, I got the impression that they were asking someone else to make a system change, instead of proposing what they could do or what they would do in the future.

I hope all of you will continue to think about what you can do to realize a sustainable society based on what you learned in this wonderful program conducted by Halo Halo.
